about

Madchester grooves and full on UK Indie moves. The Wordsmiths were a Scottish Indie band of the Madchester Baggy period of early 1990's music scene here in the UK. Taking inspiration from the likes of bands such as The Inspiral Carpets and The Charlatans they created 'Scottish Madchester' music. They formed in Penicuik a small town about 6 miles south of Edinburgh.
